Many of the best, most well rounded players play or have played field lacrosse. We strongly encourage that your child get to see this side of the game as it is not only fun, but can greatly expand their box game as well. Field is a different style of lacrosse, with it’s own set of rules. Many Canadian and US Universities offer scholarships for field lacrosse as well. The Redcoats do not yet offer a field program. But, depending on where you live in West Niagara, you can tryout for one of these teams.
There are many camps, leagues and travel teams that are offered in Southern Ontario. Some offer programs all year round, some in the Winter, and some on PA Days and March break etc. Many of the Redcoats participate in these camps and leagues to hone and or brush up on their skills. It’s a great way to keep the rust off and allow us to be competitive with other centres that take advantage of these programs as well. More will be added as they pop up.

Field lacrosse in the fall is glorious. The weather is great, season is short, affordable and the schedule is easy! The OMFLL started a new development league last fall in 2019. It’s a great way to learn, and play the game with kids from all teams across Ontario. Kids get to play with their peers and create camaraderie that lasts a lifetime.
